Cheap and Free dates

You never know were you will find great ideas for fun cheap things to do. I was reading Cosmopolitan magazine on my flight home the other day and found an article on 12 totally free dates.

Here are the great ideas from the magazine.

-Instead of going out to dinner at a restaurant go to a grocery store and go on a sampling tour. Then head to a wine shop for a tasting.
(My father thinks this is the perfect date. He invites my mom to Costco for a "Anderson" family dinner date almost every week)

-Visit a museum. Many museums have days or hours that they do not charge for admission.

-Do a house swap with a friend. Spend a mini romantic vacation away from home without the hotel costs.

-Watch pre-season football games at training camp instead of shelling out for a full price ticket

-Tour a local brewery. (www.beermapping.com for breweries in your area)

-Split an appetizer at your local restaurant for free. Join their e-clubs to receive a coupon for FREE appetizers. Check out Lone Star Steakhouse, Maggiano's Little Italy and TGI Fridays

-Order tickets to see a tv show being filmed (www.tvtickets.com lets you sign up for tickets to see the Price is Right and other shows)

-freehappyhour.com sends you e-mails alerting you to drink specials

-Visit a gallery opening

-Take a swim in a local swimming hole or hot springs ( swimmingholes.org has a great list of locations)
