Do you have money laying around the house....Postage Stamps

This week I realized that I was out of letter stamps. I was talking with John and mentioned that I needed to buy another book of stamps. John thought I was a bit crazy when I said I was out of stamps. He pointed to a plastic bag handing next to the fridge and asked what those stamps were. I said they were misc. stamps that were not the right amount. John pointed out that we could go to the post office and get small denomination stamps that would add up to a letter stamp.

We went to the post office and were able to buy $8.00 in small denomination stamps.

 We ended up having enough stamps for 45 letter stamps.

If we would have bought 45 letter stamps it would have cost me $19.80.
