Valentines Day has the potential to be a really expensive holiday. You can find yourself spending a lot of money to show your significant other how much you love them. I thought I would put together a few ideas on how to make Valentines Day fantastic but still frugal.

Valentines Day Cards

Right now Safeway has a pretty cool deal for Valentines Day cards. When you buy 3 cards at Safeway you earn a $5.00 Catalina coupon towards your next purchase. The $.99 cards are not included in this deal. Here is the other great part...There are plush bears for sale at most Safeway's. Many of them have heart shape ear tags that say they are FREE with a 3 card purchase.

Here is what my transaction looked like

3 cards at $1.99 = $5.97

1 bear at $5.99 free after 3 card purchase

Total oop - $5.97

Received a $5.00 Catalina for my next purchase

Valentines Day Dinner

Going out for Valentines day can be really expensive. I love using restaurant.com gift certificates to lower the cost! Right now restaurant.com gift certificates are on sale for 80% off. You can get a $25.00 gift certificate for $2.00! I do suggest reading the terms for each restaurant. Many of them have a certain dollar amount you need to spend. For example you can use the $25 gift certificate off of a $35 meal.
