Children's Programs

This summer the Spokane County Libraries are hosting some amazing free events!
Here are a few examples of the children's programs that are being offered this summer

Get Medieval at the Library
Do you have what it takes to be a knight? Find out from the Knights of Veritas! Learn about the Code of Chivalry, watch thrilling demonstrations of medieval combat, handle weapons and try on armor.

Birds of a Feather
West Valley Outdoor Learning Center returns to the library with live birds from our part of the world.

Salish Songs and Stories
Listen , laugh and learn as Larae Wiley shares traditional stories and songs of the first people of the Inland Northwest.

Peach Boy: A Kamishibai Tale
Join us for a story told in the Japanese style of Kamishibai, a craft and a look at authentic Japanese costumes.

Where Do You Live?
Or where would you like to live? In a castle in France? An igloo in Alaska? A tree house in Costa Rica? Come help us decorate the library by creating a fabulous mural… imagination required!

Bagpipes at the Library
Celebrate traditional Scottish music from halfway around the world with a drummer and piper!

Tessellations
Sree Nandagopal shares the ancient mathematical art of tessellations. Make beautiful patterns that combine art with math. Learn a South Indian Folk dance and try on a sari, too!

Late Night at Your Library
Join us after hours as we create, play games, eat snacks, sing, tell stories and have lots of fun! Wear old clothes since it could get messy. Pre-registration and signed permission slip required.
Grades 3–5
