*A Starbucks card is like a gift card; you purchase a card by loading it with a dollar amount such as $15, which is then used for payment at pariticipating Starbucks locations (most stores in U.S. and Canada). By additionally registering the Starbucks card online, you receive rewards and benefits listed above, plus the dollar balance is protected if the card is lost or stolen.
